Interview with RIOTOR

Hey guys. First I'd like to say good work on the new album. It sounds
fucking killer. The self titled track that appeared on SISOIII had a lot
of good feedback. Can you tell us about FUCKING METAL?

Thank you! Fucking Metal is a demo we recorded in 2008, we launched it
at the end of the year. 6 tracks of speed as fuck thrash/death metal. Lot of people
consider it as a mcd cause the production are really good, not over produced just the
way metal should be! We also receives a lot of good feed back and reviews from
the underground! We rent good microphones and we have take
the necessary time to record all the instrument, it took around 5 months to record,
mix, master all the shit! It's a real piece of fucking metal that every metalhead should own!

So when did the madness that is Riotor all start? Who are all in the band?

Band members are: ISMAREVIL: Warcry, me KEVINATOR: Six Chords Under,
GABRIHELL: Razor Sharp Metalized Axe, MIKALCOHOLIC: Thunder and lightning strike,
STEFANATIK: Multiple Stabbings.

We begin to play together in early 2007 after meeting Gab and Mik in
several gigs in our area. Stef and me were in a death/grind band before
(Traumatism) and we split off the band at the end of 2006 so I asked to brother of
steel Ismar to take control of the vokills and the line up was complete to start the madness.

Death and Destruction is Riotor first release? I've only heard the new
album. What was Death and Destruction like? Is there still copies for
sale?

DAD was released in 2007 we recorded it only 4 month after the formation of the band
Basically we wanted to make a pre-prod with theses six songs but the final product
was good enough to make a demo with. We also receive a lot of good words for this
demo the sound is more raw than Fucking metal but in the same vein, really thrash, really
fast haha! Still few copies available but at the time you'll print this interview, I don't
think so. TERROR BLAST Records re-releases it on the b-side of the reedition of fucking metal
in tape format and GATES OR HORROR, a peruvian label will relaunch it on cd. The 500 copies we distributed
by ourselves was on cdr with a color cover!

It is blatantly apparent you guys are creating some kick ass old school
Thrash Metal. What bands do you guys listen to when creating Riotor
tracks?

Razor, Desaster, Sacrifice, Death, Pestilence, Exodus, Destroyer 666, Sepultura,
Malevolent Creation, DBC, Dark Angel, Sodom, Destruction, Kreator, Celtic Frost,
Bathory, Hellhammer, Metallica, Wehrmacht, Possessed, Venom, Bolt Thrower,
Voivod, Slayer, Forbidden, Sarcofago and Testament among others!!!

Riotor has a few shows in Quebec coming up. Have you played outside Quebec
at all? Is there any plans to tour around Canada/USA in the future?

We will play with the mighty Blasphemy on october 3 in Montreal and
in Toronto with The Exalted Piledriver on november 28.
We will record our first full lenght album this fall and yes after the release
we plan to tour in the U.S. to promote it maybe during summer of 2010.

I've only been to Quebec City once. I didn't get a chance to check out any
underground shows there. Hows the scene there?

I think It could be worst. We have big venues of 800 and more like L'Imperial
or the Capitole and also little venues Like L'Agitée of 200 max but nothing between.
Bars and venues open and close often here.
We have few underground places to buy records also some are rip offs some are ok.
Also few metals nights in the bar like Wednesday night at the Scanner Bar.
The people are really metal here lot of black or power metal of course...
More long haired peoples with bullets belt than a lot of city in general I think!

What local bands would you recommend and Where does Riotor fit into the
mix?

I don't know where we fit into the mix haha but in our style and right now
we are kind of not too bad...
Band like No Pity will launch their demo really soon (I recorded it) and they have fucking nice thrash
to offer they are young but very powerful. I think we influence them a little, good friends.
Have an ear on these band too if you can find their shit.
War Command, Saccage, Deathroner, Herode...

Riotor chooses to write lyrics and sing in English. It seems more and more
Quebec bands (at least black metal and bands from outside Montreal) write
and sing in French. Would Riotor ever do any french songs?

We want to write a song in french, english and bosnian the three languages together
We just have to find the good subject hahaha but I come from France and Ismarevil come
from Bosnia so why not. I think for a song it can be killer!
